Looking for an alternative to Google Antigravity?

Google Antigravity is Google's agentic IDE and CLI, built around Gemini models, with quotas set by your Google AI plan; Standard Compute is a cost-optimized API for open agents such as OpenCode and Hermes, where the router sends each step to the cheapest model that can do it, Gemini, Claude and GPT included, on one monthly budget.

TL;DR

Stay on Antigravity if you want Google's IDE and Gemini covers your work. Switch the agent work to an open agent on Standard Compute when the five-hour and weekly refreshes stop you, or when you want Claude or GPT without paying for Ultra.

What Google Antigravity offers

Individuals $0 with basic weekly rate limits; Google AI Pro $20 a month with a quota refreshed every five hours until a weekly limit; Google AI Ultra $100 (5x Pro's tokens) or $200 (20x), with the highest quota and third-party models; business seats through Google Cloud from $30 per seat a month, or pay as you go. Gemini models share one rate limit drawn down at API pricing, and non-Gemini models have a separate fixed limit. Above the quota, Pro and Ultra users can buy AI credits at Gemini Enterprise consumption pricing. Bring-your-own-key and custom endpoints are not supported. • An agent manager that runs agents across the editor, terminal and a browser they control
  • Google's newest Gemini models first, with a free plan to start
  • Antigravity CLI for the terminal next to the IDE
  • Business seats with spend caps and admin controls through Google Cloud

Why people look for an alternative

  • Quotas are set by capacity and plan, with no published amounts, refreshed every five hours or weekly
  • Pro's five-hour refresh stops once its weekly limit is reached
  • Third-party models only on Ultra, on a separate fixed limit
  • No bring-your-own-key or custom endpoint for more capacity

Google AI Pro vs Google AI Ultra vs Standard Compute

Google's plans buy Antigravity quota that refreshes every five hours, up to a weekly limit on Pro. Standard Compute buys a published monthly budget for the open agent of your choice, with a router that keeps the cost per step down.

Which one fits your work

PickWhen
Standard ComputeOpen agents (OpenCode, Hermes, Claude Code, Codex CLI) that you want on one key with Gemini, Claude, GPT and open models
Long agent runs that would hit five-hour and weekly refreshes
Teams that need opt-in Europe or US rules per company, team or key, and no training on or storing of prompts
A published monthly budget instead of quotas set by capacity
Google AntigravityYou want Google's agentic IDE with browser control and its artifacts
Gemini models cover your work and the free or Pro quota fits
Your company already buys Google Cloud seats

Switching takes one config change

Standard Compute is OpenAI-compatible, so any tool or SDK that lets you set a custom base URL migrates in minutes:

Base URL = https://api.stdcmpt.com/v1
API key = your Standard Compute key
Model     = standardcompute

FAQ

Can I use my own API key in Antigravity?

No. Google's plans docs say bring-your-own-key and bring-your-own-endpoint are not currently supported. Above the quota, Pro and Ultra users can buy AI credits instead.

What is the best Google Antigravity alternative?

An open agent on a cost-routed API, if you want to choose the models and see the budget. OpenCode and Hermes do agentic coding from the terminal and take any OpenAI-compatible key. On Standard Compute the router sends each step to the cheapest model that can do it, providers are vetted for price, uptime and speed with automatic fallback, and opt-in Europe or US rules apply per company, team or key. If you want an IDE with a browser-controlling agent, Antigravity is still the more complete product.

How do Antigravity rate limits work?

By plan. Without Pro or Ultra the quota refreshes weekly; on Pro it refreshes every five hours until a weekly limit; Ultra has the highest quota and weekly limits. Google says the limits are set mainly by available capacity, and complex tasks use more of them than simple ones.

Is Antigravity or Standard Compute cheaper?

For Gemini-only work inside the free or Pro quota, Antigravity is. Standard Compute plans cost $19 to $249 a month for a fixed compute budget across Gemini, Claude, GPT and open models, which pays off when you would otherwise need Ultra for third-party models or keep hitting the weekly limit.
