Use Standard Compute with Command Code

A terminal coding agent (cmd) with its own model plans, which also takes your own OpenAI- or Anthropic-compatible provider through BYOK. Paste three settings into Command Code: the base URL, your Standard Compute API key and the model.

Command Code's BYOK requests go straight from your machine to the provider's endpoint, never through Command Code's servers, and sub-agents, compaction and title generation stay on your BYOK session model.

Eligible new accounts can try $0.25 of compute, with no card. See trial terms →

Your connection settings

Copy these values, then put them where Command Code expects them (steps below).

Where to set them in Command Code

  1. Run /connect in Command Code and pick (BYOK) Add your own provider; name it standardcompute and keep the OpenAI-compatible wire.
  2. Paste https://api.stdcmpt.com/v1 as the endpoint and your Standard Compute key; cmd stores the key in ~/.commandcode/auth.json and imports the model list.
  3. Pick standardcompute/standardcompute in /model. Or add the provider by hand to ~/.commandcode/providers.json with "apiKey": "$STANDARDCOMPUTE_API_KEY".

What changes in Command Code

Billing
Command Code requests draw on one monthly compute budget, with plans from $19 a month. There is no per-token bill. When the budget is used, requests stop until renewal or an upgrade, unless you turn on pay as you go.
Models
The model standardcompute picks a frontier or an efficient model for each request. An exact model ID from the Models page pins one model instead.
Good to know
BYOK is in beta. Command Code's own plans run $1 to $200 a month, and its Provider plan bills models at list rates with no markup; a BYOK provider bills through that provider instead.
