Use Standard Compute with Reasonix

An open-source coding agent for the terminal and the Reasonix Studio desktop app, built around DeepSeek but open to OpenAI- and Anthropic-compatible providers. Paste three settings into Reasonix: the base URL, your Standard Compute API key and the model.

With Full URL off, Reasonix appends /chat/completions to the API address and shows a preview of the exact request URL under the field.

Eligible new accounts can try $0.25 of compute, with no card. See trial terms →

Your connection settings

Copy these values, then put them where Reasonix expects them (steps below).

Where to set them in Reasonix

  1. Reasonix Studio: Settings → Model → Access → Add model service → Custom provider, protocol OpenAI-compatible.
  2. Set the API address to https://api.stdcmpt.com/v1 with Full URL off, save your Standard Compute key and add the model standardcompute.
  3. CLI: add a [[providers]] entry with name and model standardcompute, kind = "openai", base_url = "https://api.stdcmpt.com/v1" and api_key_env = "STANDARDCOMPUTE_API_KEY" to ~/.reasonix/config.toml, and put the key in ~/.reasonix/.env.

What changes in Reasonix

Billing
Reasonix requests draw on one monthly compute budget, with plans from $19 a month. There is no per-token bill. When the budget is used, requests stop until renewal or an upgrade, unless you turn on pay as you go.
Models
The model standardcompute picks a frontier or an efficient model for each request. An exact model ID from the Models page pins one model instead.
Good to know
Reasonix is free and MIT-licensed. Provider keys come only from ~/.reasonix/.env, shared by the CLI and Studio; shell variables are not read for provider keys.
