What does ClinePass actually include?
ClinePass costs $9.99 a month and includes 12 open-weight coding models in Cline, among them GLM-5.3, Kimi K3, DeepSeek V4 Pro and Qwen3.8 Max. Usage counts against 5-hour, weekly and monthly limits, and Cline does not publish their size in tokens or dollars.
The 12 models and their reference prices
Choose the ClinePass provider in Cline, then a model. Model IDs follow the pattern cline-pass/glm-5.3. You are not billed the prices below; Cline uses them to measure your usage against the limits.
| Model | Input | Output | Cached read |
|---|---|---|---|
| GLM-5.3 | $1.40 | $4.40 | $0.26 |
| GLM-5.3 Flash | $0.15 | $0.50 | $0.03 |
| Kimi K3 | $3.00 | $15.00 | $0.30 |
| DeepSeek V4 Pro | $1.32 | $3.96 | $0.044 |
| DeepSeek V4.1 Flash | $0.30 | $1.20 | $0.006 |
| MiMo-V2.5 | $0.14 | $0.28 | $0.0028 |
| MiMo-V2.5-Pro | $1.74 | $3.48 | $0.0145 |
| MiniMax M3 | $0.30 | $1.20 | $0.06 |
| Muse Spark 1.3 Contributor | $0.10 | $0.20 | $0.002 |
| Qwen3.8 Max | $2.00 | $6.00 | $0.25 |
| Qwen3.7 Max | $2.50 | $7.50 | $0.50 |
| Qwen3.7 Plus | $0.40 | $1.60 | $0.04 |
Dollars per million tokens, from Cline's ClinePass docs. DeepSeek V4 Pro at its peak rate; Qwen3.7 Plus up to 256K tokens.
How the 2-5x quota works
Cline sells ClinePass as "2-5x the usage on popular open coding models compared to standard API rate". Each request is costed at the reference prices above and counted against three limits: a rolling 5-hour window, the calendar week and the calendar month. Until July 22, 2026 the docs said "2-5x the API rate limits" instead.
What Cline does not publish
No token, dollar or request figure for any of the three limits, and no word on which models get 2x and which get 5x. Our estimate, not Cline's: if the multiple applies to the $9.99 price, a month of ClinePass is worth about $20 to $50 at reference prices. Your real use is on the Cline dashboard.
At a limit, Cline shows "ClinePass limit reached" and offers to move you to its pay-as-you-go billing. Otherwise you wait for the window to reset.
ClinePass or your own API key?
Cline also runs on your own key, through built-in DeepSeek, Z.ai, Qwen, MiniMax and OpenRouter providers or its OpenAI Compatible option. On our gateway, a typical active day for a coding agent is 8.5 million tokens, mostly cache reads. At Cline's reference prices it costs:
| Model | Per day | Per month |
|---|---|---|
| Qwen3.7 Max | $6.80 | $136 |
| Kimi K3 | $6.16 | $123 |
| Qwen3.8 Max | $4.33 | $87 |
| GLM-5.3 | $3.65 | $73 |
| MiMo-V2.5-Pro | $2.16 | $43 |
| DeepSeek V4 Pro | $1.94 | $39 |
| MiniMax M3 | $0.82 | $16 |
| Qwen3.7 Plus | $0.81 | $16 |
| DeepSeek V4.1 Flash | $0.42 | $8 |
| GLM-5.3 Flash | $0.41 | $8 |
| MiMo-V2.5 | $0.19 | $4 |
| Muse Spark 1.3 Contributor | $0.13 | $3 |
Per month = 20 working days. Typical day = the median active day in our Agent Burn Index, from Standard Compute gateway traffic, September 13 to October 12, 2026. Your provider's prices and cache hit rate will differ.
When ClinePass is the better deal
- You code in Cline a few hours a week on GLM-5.3, Kimi K3, Qwen3.8 Max or DeepSeek V4 Pro. A month of that costs more than $9.99 on your own key, and light use rarely reaches a 5-hour or weekly limit.
- You want one bill instead of accounts with Z.ai, Moonshot, DeepSeek, Alibaba and MiniMax.
When to skip it
- You mostly run DeepSeek V4.1 Flash, GLM-5.3 Flash, MiMo-V2.5 or Muse Spark. A month on your own key costs under $10.
- Kimi K3 or a Qwen Max model is your daily driver. At $4 to $7 a day in reference prices, you are likely to reach the weekly or monthly limit well before the month ends.
- You need Claude, GPT or Gemini. ClinePass has none of them.
Price, payment and cancelling
- $9.99 a month, plus an "additional processing fee" that Cline says may apply.
- Cancel in your account settings before renewal; you keep access until the paid month ends.
- Cline's terms make fees non-refundable unless the law requires otherwise. Stripe takes the payment, and taxes come on top.
- Cline publishes no ClinePass country list. Its terms exclude sanctioned and embargoed locations.
The catch
The model list can change while you pay. On September 24 Cline removed GLM-5.2, Kimi K2.6, Kimi K2.7 Code and DeepSeek V4 Flash at the same price, and its own ClinePass page still listed all four on October 13. Check the docs before you name a model in a config.
Where Standard Compute fits
Standard Compute plans start at $19 a month with a $20 monthly compute budget, and work in Cline as an OpenAI-compatible provider: choose OpenAI Compatible, set the base URL to https://api.stdcmpt.com/v1, paste your key and use the model ID standardcompute. Smart routing sends routine steps to efficient models and harder ones to frontier models such as Claude and GPT, so the budget goes further. Requests stop when the budget is used, so the bill stays the same.
FAQ
Is there a ClinePass coupon?
We found none in Cline's site, docs or app. On October 13, 2026 the ClinePass page calls $9.99 a month the standard rate after a promotion period but names no promotional price, and an earlier $4.99 first-month offer is no longer stated.
How much usage does ClinePass include?
Cline does not say. Usage is costed at its reference prices and counted against a 5-hour, a weekly and a monthly limit, with no token or dollar figure for any of them. Your current use is on the Cline dashboard.
Which models did ClinePass remove?
On September 24, 2026 Cline removed GLM-5.2, Kimi K2.6, Kimi K2.7 Code and DeepSeek V4 Flash, citing capacity constraints and model upgrades, and added DeepSeek V4.1 Flash and Muse Spark 1.3 Contributor. Cline suggests DeepSeek V4.1 Flash, GLM-5.3 or Kimi K3 as replacements. The price stayed $9.99.
Can I use ClinePass outside Cline?
Yes. Create an API key under Settings > API Keys at app.cline.bot and call https://api.cline.bot/api/v1/chat/completions, an OpenAI-compatible endpoint, with a model ID such as cline-pass/glm-5.3. Usage counts against the same limits.
What happens when I hit the ClinePass limit?
Cline shows "ClinePass limit reached" and offers to switch you to its usage-based billing, which charges pay-as-you-go credits. If you don't switch, you wait for the 5-hour, weekly or monthly window to reset.
Does ClinePass include Claude or GPT?
No. ClinePass covers open-weight models only. For Claude, GPT or Gemini in Cline, use Cline's usage-based billing, your own provider key, or an OpenAI-compatible provider such as Standard Compute.
