GPT-6 Sol costs about $0.083 per average coding-agent request on our measured traffic, at list prices of $2 per million input and $10 per million output tokens. It scores 49.4% on Terminal-Bench 4.0, below its successor GPT-6.1 Sol.

Each logged request priced at the vendor's list rates for its own token counts, including cache reads and any higher rate for long prompts. Average output: 698 tokens per request.
GPT-6.1 Sol replaced it at the same list price with half the cached-input price ($0.10 vs $0.20 per million) and higher scores, so 6.1 Sol is 18% cheaper per request on our traffic. Keep GPT-6 Sol only if you need its no-reasoning effort level.

GPT-6 Sol launched September 22, 2026 with GPT-6 Luna, at half the price of GPT-5.6 Sol. OpenAI's own model page now points to GPT-6.1 Sol as the newer Sol model, and Artificial Analysis lists GPT-6 Sol as superseded. On the boards it trails its successor: 49.4% on Terminal-Bench 4.0 versus 58.2%, and 48 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index versus 52. It remains on the API, keeps the no-reasoning effort level that 6.1 Sol dropped, and is faster at max effort (about 122 output tokens/s).
